Jodi L. Parsons, CPP has over 25 years of experience in the payroll field and over 15 years of experience in the accounts payable field. She joined the Kansas City Royals in June 2014. In her current role, she oversees the club's Payroll function, including oversight of taxation for all Major League and Minor League Players. Additionally, Jodi manages the club’s HCM system and retirement plans.

Currently, Jodi serves as Board Secretary of PayrollOrg and is a Past-President of PayrollOrg (formerly the American Payroll Association). Recently, Jodi joined the Advisory Board for Avila University's Strategic Artificial Intelligence Certificate Program and Loyola University-New Orleans Customer Experience Certificate Program. Previously, she served on the Advisory Board for the Minnesota State University Women in Leadership Program and as the President of the National Iowa Varsity Club, the University of Iowa's letterman's club.

Jodi has been a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) since 2002. She was named the 2014 PayrollOrg Payroll Woman of the Year and the 2011 American Accounts Payable Association’s Accounts Payable Woman of the Year.

Join us for a focused session on multistate taxation.

Employers have seen their multi-state employee population increase since 2020. During her presentation, Playing the Field, Jodi will discuss the three (3) rules that should be taken into consideration when determining what state an employee should be taxed in for income tax withholding purposes. She will then focus on the four (4) factors that will determine what state laws should be applied for unemployment purposes, including the reporting of wages.
